Place of origin |
A polylobed platform with convex slanting rim rests on three hooved legs. The surface of the platform is created by six lotus-bud-shaped cups, their tangent sides curving up to a hexagonal rim and thereby defining triangular facets sloping down from the rim. On the rim itself a short, slightly waisted shaft supports an element shaped like a footed vase with bulbous body and outcurving neck.
Around the foot of the vase-shaped section is a band of guilloche. Below, on the shaft and on the hexagonal rim, , six circles are joined by a guilloche.
The platform combines geometric and figurative motifs. On the slanting triangular facets inserted between the lotus-bud-shaped cups and the heaxagonal rim, triangles are engraved.
Patina: purplish red to black-red with small areas of green deposits.
