Martin Walker and Bernadette Brittain were the main contributors to the Red Dragon Print Collective, one of a number of poster workshops operating in the 1970s that encouraged the British population at large to take a more active role in the control of its own future, not least at a local level. With changes in legislation concerning renting and letting, various rises in property prices and the behaviour of some landlords, housing became a serious social issue in the 1970s. 'Squatting', or the invasive occupation of empty property by homeless people, as urged by this poster, was one consequence.

| Physical description | Portrait format poster. Yellow ground against which peachy coloured flat fronted building with regular pattern of 3 doors with windows, could be three terraced houses. The centre one with lighted windows, the two flanking it boarded up. On the skyline against the chimneys three grey figures: head and shoulders of a man with - on two flanking sides, a grey high-rise growing out of the head. The word 'REJECT' is stamped over the two boarded-up houses and the central 'grey man'. Caption below. |
