Driver: "Shure, sor, oi 'aven't the heart to bate 'im."
Traveller: "What's the matter with him? Is he sick?"
Driver: "No, sor, 'e's not sick, but it's unlucky 'e is, sor, unlucky. You see, sor, ivery marnin' afore oi put 'im in the car, oi tosses 'im whether 'e'll 'ave a feed ov oats or oi'll 'ave a dhrink ov whisky, an the poor baste has lost foive marnin's runnin."
