Place of origin

The curtains consist of a hardboard pelmet painted greyish blue, to which has been attached a wood bar supporting the curtain tracks. This bar is also drilled with holes into which fit the theatre and stage poles. The curtains are two length of orange nylon cloth with red tape at the top to which are attached brass rings. Wire has been assed through the rings and it is attached to eyelet screws at each end of the wood bar. Also attached to the inner rings on each curtain and passing through eyelet screws is a knotted length of pianno string of gut. This has a small wooden ball attached and when this ball is pulled the curtains open. Decorating the front is a frillof matching fabric.
