Zuccaro geb.1529' with some illegible numerals underneath Inscribed also in pencil 'Casparo Celi' Red and black chalk 8 ¼ x 3 ¾) (212 x 95) --1929 PROVENANCE Probably Ploos van Amstel (the handwriting in ink resembles Lugt 3002-3004 and the words 'by Ploos' are written on the mount); bequeathed 1929 by Miss Grace Valentine Stephenson in accordance with the wish of Ralph Harry Stephenson No. 422 is a similar drawing from the same collection and shows the same sitter, presumably Casparo Celi, of whom no record has been found.
