Object history | The stained glass from which this drawing is copied is in the fifth window from the east (known as the St Cuthbert Window) in the south aisle of the choir of York Minster. The window was donated by Cardinal Langley, Bishop of Durham, in the early 5th century. In 1887-8 the whole of the St Cuthbert Window was rearranged in its original order, and twelve panels were removed. Panels of new glass were produced by J. W. Knowles, based on the originals as far as possible. |
