Original copperplate engraving for the title page to 'The Fables of Jean de la Fontaine' (Vol I.), depicting a man inside an elaborate puppet-theatre with a collection of puppets, including a cat and a clergyman. A medallion above the stage contains the title and details of the translator and engraver and a plaque on the base of the stage gives publishing details.
