An alternative title for this lithograph is "The author in the Circassian costume." in the third edition (1839) of "Travels in Circassia, Krim-Tartary, &c., including a steam voyage down the Danube, from Vienna to Constantinople, and round the Black sea." written by Edmund Spencer and annotated as being a drawing by Aleksander Molinari from a "sketch by the author".
