Watson ran a professional studio in London’s Regent Street. The title of this image suggests it was intended as a work of art or as an aid to artists. The model is viewed from the back, unlike the more titillating nudes commercially available at the time. The lack of a reflection in the mirror suggests that the glass had been removed, or perhaps blocked during printing.
