Place of origin

In 1882 Fabergé showed archaeological-style jewellery at the Pan-Russian Industrial Exhibition in Moscow. Visitors to the Exhibition greatly admired these pieces, which were based on the Greek jewellery in the Hermitage. Like many jewellers at this time, Fabergé was fascinated and inspired by these ancient pieces. This simple bracelet, based on Roman jewellery, shows the enduring popularity of the archaeological style.
