Sampler of embroidered wool in silks and silver threads. Small sampler worked with a picture of the crucified Christ, with the three Marys at the foot of the cross. The picture is framed with a line of couched silver thread. On either side are pelicans, squirrels, fir trees, rabbits, a leopard and a dove, with a scattering of sprigs of flowers. A stylised floral border runs round three sides of the sampler. Silks on wool in cross, tent and stem stitch with couched silver thread on the halos of Christ and the Virgin.
