This love token shows Cupid about to fire an arrow from his bow. It would have been a relatively inexpensive piece of jewellery as it is made of plain silver and weighs little. Jewellers made similar lockets to celebrate the marriage of the English king Charles II to Catherine of Braganza in 1662.
