Place of origin |
A four piece shrine with standing images of Krishna and Radha, slotting into a base, as does the arch behind them. Krishna is in his flute-playing pose, with a bent wire flute in his hands. His right leg is bent across the left with his toes resting on the base. Radha stands to his left, her legs straight, holding a lotus bud in her right hand. The base has four high legs and foliated perforations in the front and sides. The openwork screen behind the couple, who stand on lotus bases has a kirttimukha at the apex of the pointed arch and a pair of addorsed parrots. An old paper label inside the base identifies Krishna and "Radhika", with (probably the same words) in Devanagari and Urdu script.
