Object history | The city of Rouen is the capital of the region of Normandy, France and was one of the most prosperous cities in the country in Medieval Europe. It is located in Northern France, with the River Seine running through it. During the Second World War, the British used the city as a supply base, and over 45% of Rouen was destroyed during this period. The city was liberated by Canada in 1944. |
