Middle East, Metalwork. For a dagger (Khanjar), carved wood covered with polychrome lacquer decorated with two cartouches of Qajar women and one cartouche of of blue flowers. The chape is silver. Iran; Arms and armour. Inter-departmental transfer to MES, RF 2011/1170.

Middle East, Metalwork. Large dagger with a dark, chiselled watered steel blade with medial rib decorated with floral arabesques in gold kuftkari. The carved ivory hilt is decorated with figurative motifs and calligraphic panels. The pommel cap is silver, chiselled and set with three dark stones and twelve turquoises. Iran; Persian; Arms and armour. Inter-departmental transfer to MES, RF 2011/1170.
