Painting, in opaque watercolour on paper, a prince paying a visit to an old hermit, Ragamala illustration to the musical mode Kedara Ragini. Ragamala paintings illustrate poetry dealing with musical forms and help instruct the musicians on the mood and notes of the piece. The prince wears pink robes with an all-over geometric design in blue, gold belt and jewellery and an elaborate headdress, and is accompanied by an attendant with a peacock feather fan, and a groom for his horse.
