Middle East, Metalwork. Curved single edged watered steel blade with a striking red/brown contrasting hue decorated with two gold damascened cartouches and a broad fuller along the back of the blade. The grip is ivory with plain watered steel quillons and pommel cap. Iran, Islamic arms and armour. Inter-departmental transfer to MES, RF 2011/1170.

Middle East, Metalwork. For a sword (Shamshir), black tooled leather over a wooden core with plain watered steel, chiseled and pierced mounts. The leather is fraying at the chape. Iran, Islamic arms and armour. Inter-departmental transfer to MES, RF 2011/1170.
