Linen napkin woven in a diaper pattern, with 2 selvedges and two hemmed edges. A modern label loosely attached states "this is old Grassmere handwoven damask, single width & portion of a 'carver's cloth' dated 1702 of which there were 11 in 1880. They belonged to Nyman ancestors of that date but were marked in 1880".
