This Indian necklace is made of a double string of pearls and emeralds supporting a circular pendant. The pendant is of gold and silver set with rubies, emeralds, natural white sapphires and rock crystal, and is enamelled on the back. The ties are silk covered with gilt silver metal, partly bound with strings of silk threaded with seed pearls.
Necklaces like this could have been made at almost any time in the Indian subcontinent in the 18th and 19th century.
