Comb of semi-circular form, in wood covered in silver lacquer, with gold, silver and black hiramaki-e ('low sprinkled picture') lacquer, with moths and grasses under a full moon, the moon being centred along the top of the comb so that it features prominently in the design on both sides. The silver colour and form of the comb can also be interpreted as a crescent moon, in accord with the predominant moon motif.
