Historical context | "Anjum Sheik lives in Leicester and spends many of his evenings at the local Bhangra nightclub. On a Bhangra DJ night he wears B-Boy style jeans, T-Shirt and trainers. However when a Bhangra band is playing live, he smartens up his attire and wears this outfit. The shirt was made with a Nehru collar by an Indian tailor in Leicester (£15 material, £10 labour) and the trousers were bought for £20 from the local market. He wore these with fine leather slip-on shoes and African copper jewellery." |
