Place of origin |
This vase, produced in the kilns of Jingdezhen in southern China, is part of a garniture set of five pieces, comprising two trumpet-shaped vases and three jars with lids. They were used in Europe as display pieces on the mantelpiece or on tables and cabinets placed against the walls. The design of ladies on terraces and flowers, arranged in petal-shaped panels, was a popular motif on the blue and white export porcelain of the Kangxi period (1662-1722).
