Morton Sundour Fabrics Ltd., Carlisle, was formed in 1914 with James Morton (1867-1943) as Governing Director. It took over nearly all the manufactories, save for lace and carpet production, of Alexander Morton & Co. It produced well-designed, reliable fabrics at reasonable cost.
