Quarbani (1980)

Indian Film Poster
1980 (Made)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

The poster is dominated by two male portraits with a look of horror and fright on their faces, both clutching each other and staring out of the poster into the distance. The background is full of red and orange flames. Both the background and the posters have been 'painted-over' which enhances their facial expressions and gives the poster a more dramatic effect. The English title runs across the bottom of the poster and the typography is in a three dimensional style which gives the effect of monumental scale. From the centre of the title emerges a fist holding a dagger from which there is dripping blood. The title itself is in the same blood red colour. The two figures tower over the title adding to the sense of monumentality. The Hindi and Urdu titles are on a much smaller scale near the credits below the main title. The artist's logo is in the bottom right hand corner.
