Place of origin |
This poster uses a inverted triangular format to link the main characters. Forming the left hand side of the triangle is a large scale portrait of the actor Amitabh Bachchan looking into the distance. Forming the top right hand angle is a much smaller image of a woman in rural costume (Rekha). The apex of the triangle is formed by a medium scale male figure (Vinod Khanna), he is depicted in shades of brown which contrasts sharply with the vibrant blue of the portrait behind him. The title is in bottom left hand corner in English. The Hindi and Urdu titles are on a much smaller scale in the top right hand corner. The entire poster has been 'painted-over' which emphasises the facial expression of the two male characters and contrasts with the photographic image of the female figure. The artist's signature is in the centre on the right hand side of the poster.
