Place of origin |
This poster design uses an inverted triangular format to link the characters. In the top right hand corner is a large male portrait (Dilip Kumar). This is balanced by a smaller portrait on the left hand side, set slightly in the background and this is coloured in shades of red while the main portrait is in natural tones. These two portraits have been 'painted-over' which enhances their facial expressions. In front of both faces and on a much smaller scale, forming the apex of the triangle, is a man dressed as a Gopi. The title along with the placing of the Gopi in the centre indicates that the narrative dilemma of the film revolves around him. Set slightly away from this is a small figure of a woman carrying a lota or waterpot, this and her dress indicate a rural theme. The English title is in a three dimensional lettering and fills one third of the bottom of the poster. The much smaller Hindi and Urdu titles are in the left hand corner.
