PROVENANCE Bought 1883
Copy (16th century) of a fresco on the facade of the Casa Boniauguri, Piazza S. Chiara, Rome. The subject was engraved by Michele Grecchi. For a history of the house and a reproduction of the engraving see the catalogue of an exhibition organized by the 'Amici dei Musei di Roma', entitled Le Case Romane con facciate graffite e dipinte, at the Palazzo Braschi, Rome, 1960, p. 76 and pl. 29; also Marabottini, pl. 129.
