Object history
Goblet, Italian, 19th century, Latticino glass, made in Venice. One of the chief decorative characteristics of glass is the possibility of showing ornament within the body of the material itself. Here the net-like pattern enables us to see the shape of the bowl.
Production
This goblet is very similar in execution to one lent to the South Kensington Museum by Antonio Salviati in 1866. (0650)
