On the front cover is a black and white image on the left hand side of the page of a woman's face (Waheeda Rehman) gazing into the distance being kissed on her neck by a man (Guru Dutt). Below these faces there is a silhouette of a director sitting in his chair surrounded by film making equipment. On the right hand side and in sharp contrast to the black and white of the entire cover is a cluster of red roses which indicate the title of the film. The title is written below.
There are 8 pages inside, the inside cover has all the film credits and the second page has a synopsis of the film written in English. The following 4 pages have a synopsis of the film and some song lyrics written in Hindi followed by 3 pages and the back cover with the equivalent in Urdu. The back cover has an advertisment for two other films by Guru Dutt, 'Raaz' and 'Chaudhvin ka Chand'.

Song booklets are unique to Indian cinema. They contain a film synopsis, stills and song lyrics. The booklets were sold to the audience for a few annas (pence) and in the absence of cheap recordings people would be able to sing the songs at home using the lyrics. In most cases the text was reproduced in Hindi, Urdu and English. Often artists could be more creative and innovative with the booklet covers than the posters.
