Middle East, Metalwork. For a khanjar, polychrome lacquered wooden sheath with green cartouches set in a gold ground, with an ivory lotus bud terminal. On the reverse are round cartouches with paired birds and three lobed cartouches with three Qajar beauties. Turkish, C19. Arms and armour. Inter-departmental transfer to MES, RF 2011/1170.

Middle East, Metalwork. Curved watered steel, double-edged blade with a pronounced medial rib, and a watered steel hilt, both decorated with chiselled and gold kuftkari ornament. Broad calligraphic panels decorate the blade, while chiselled calligraphic cartouches bordered with gold kuftkari floral ornament decorates the hilt. The pommel is decorated with three turquoises (?), Turkish, C19. Arms and armour. Inter-departmental transfer to MES, RF 2011/1170.
