Two rows of balusters, the upper enclosing a representation of the Resurrection, between three embossed bands, the upper and lower enriched with grotesques, the central one with the inscription AVE MARIA GRATIA PLENA. The pediment encloses a coat of arms with a prelate's hat. The whole of the decoration is repeated on both sides. The gate has a lock with a sliding bolt.

| Object history | The coat of arms is that of Cardinal Bernardo de Sandoval y Rojas who was in charge of the diocese of Toledo from 2 June 1599 until his death on 7 December 1618. He carried out a number of important changes to Toledo Cathedral including the Chapel of the Virgin of the Ciborium- in which he is buried- the main Sacristy and other additions.
