The Ladies amusement, published by Robert Sayers, was one of the largest and most popular design books of the eighteenth century. Stefano della Bella’s classically-inspired designs for vases, reproduced in its third edition, would influence potters such as Josiah Wedgwood and Thomas Bentley, among others, in their own work.
