Note in Register: (date?) Hans Lehmann identified the arms as of Hans Heinrich of Schönau and his wife Elizabeth Schmid of Zurich. He attributes the panel to Christoph Murer of Zurich (1558-1614).
Production
The Von Schonaus were an ancient family from near Bodensee, owning much land around Zurich. Hans Heinrich became a city councillor in 1585 and held various important civic posts, culminating in the Governorship of Wadenswil in 1612.
Upper part: Hans Heinrich von Schonau, at this time Governor of Greifensee and Elizabeth Schmid his wife 1597.
