Object history
The donor was in charge of the refurbishment of Villa Louis (see Historical Significance). The V&A had identified and dated the originals.

Historical significance: This is a reproduction of a furnishing found in Villa Louis, Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, when the house was undergoing restoration and refurbishment. It was reprinted to be used in the house as new.

A textile design originally by William Morris in 1875. This reproduction version was printed by Scalamandré, USA in 2001.
