From 1879, Auguste (1853-1909) and Antonin Daum (1864-1930) took over the management of the Verrerie de Nancy from their father Jean (1825-85). Influenced by Gallé in the 1890s they extended the production to art glass and, in 1906, opened a pâte-de-verre workshop and from then on the company continually introduced new techniques. By the 1920s and 30s, under Paul Daum (1888-1944) they made clearer glass in heavy, simple shapes often influenced by Maurice Marinot.
