Gallery label
Timo Sarpaneva (b.1926) trained in graphic design at the central School of Industrial Design, Helsinki. He joined Iittala in 1950, under Tapio Wirkkala. Multi-talented, Sarpaneva has made designs for a wide variety of materials including ceramics, metalwork, plastics, wood and textiles. This design was shown at the Triennale, Milan 1960
