The fragment shows the left half of the scene depicting the infant prince Siddhartha ( later to become the Buddha) receiving his bath in the Lumbini garden. He stands on a stool beneath a royal umbrella on an elaborate stem to which are fixed fly whisks (emblems of royalty). A god pours water over the prince, another kneels at his feet and a third stands in worship. Two female servants are shown kneeling and holding the boy's hand.
