Stained glass design, in watercolour, probably for a single light window. The figure of St.Hilda is clothed in the grey robes of a nun with a colourful ecclesiastical fabric draped over a shoulder and around her waist. She has a blue halo, carries a shell in her right hand and a bishop's crosier in the crook of her left arm. The design is drawn in pen and ink and watercolour on cream-coloured paper with a narrow, grey card frame around its front. The frame is attached to the back of the design itself by masking tape.

| Object history | This stained glass design, (one of 32) was in the collection of the late B.D.H. Miller who bequeathed them to the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford. Timothy Wilson, Keeper of Western Art, Ashmolean Museum gave them to the Victoria and Albert Museum. The designs were lot 320 in the sale of the contents of Towne Furlong Farm, Phillips, Oxford, sales catalogue, Thursday, 13 June 1991. |
