The body is formed as a shallow circular concave tray with sloping sides supported by three feet formed of straps. Around the edge is part of an engraved inscription:

Perpetual Glory, Perpetual……and
A handle of tubular, waisted form with facets is attached to one side of the body. The body and strap feet are decorated with engraved palmette roundels around which also appear the cartouches containing the inscriptions.
Prominent domed cover cast in openwork with interlaced designs and quatrefoils containing floral sprays all on a foliate ground. At the top a terminal in the form of a bird with outstretched wings.
Areas of the design including the inscriptions and the quatrefoil panels on the cover are gilded.
