Stained glass designs, in watercolour, for three narrow windows at Burlington St Mary, New Jersey, U.S.A.. The tallest window shows the Virgin and Child situated above worshipping angels offering gifts. The windows on either side show the biblical characters of Eve and Ruth on one side and David and Isaiah on the other. The designs are drawn in pen and ink and watercolour on a large piece of cream-coloured paper mounted on a piece of rectangular, cream-coloured card with a grey frame. The frame is attached to the back of the mount with masking tape. There is a slight pencil sketch of diagonal, straight lines on the back of the mount.

Object history | This stained glass design, (one of 32) was in the collection of the late B.D.H. Miller who bequeathed them to the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford. Timothy Wilson, Keeper of Western Art, Ashmolean Museum gave them to the Victoria and Albert Museum. The designs were lot 320 in the sale of the contents of Towne Furlong Farm, Phillips, Oxford, sales catalogue, Thursday, 13 June 1991. |
