Probably consciously, Daum Frères adopted the influential style of glass made by Maurice Marinot and here they have translated it into commercial production. Compare this vase with the glass by Marinot in the adjoining index case. Paul Daum (188-44) joined the family company in 1911 and his designs were being exhibited with acclaim by 1921, in the Salon d'Automne and the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs especially.
