Rectangular box with lid and base containing a board game. The lid is printed on the outside showing a picture of a garden with a path with bare footprints. As well as the title, it has the words "playing companion planting" "for young and old" and "fun and cooperative". The outside of the box base has a picture of the game board and quotes recommendations for the game from various people. The playing board folds once, is black backed with a colour printed sheet of paper stuck on the inside to form the playing surface. On it are rows of circular pictures of vegetables and a garden race layout. The wording "Good Companions" in four languages heads the board. There are four cards with circular discs to push out that correspond to the pictures on the board. The playing accessories consist of four varnished wooden cylindrical pieces with pointed tops, two wooden dice, one a standard design the other with symbols on, and a quantity of pebble-like plastic pieces of different colours.
