Etched 1861, printed and issued in 1871 as one of the ‘Sixteen Etchings of Scenes on the Thames, and Other Subjects,’ by Ellis and Green, 32 King Street, Covent Garden, in editions of one hundred. Dated by the artist in plate. View of the Thames at Millbank, at low tide. The eye is drawn to a line of mooring posts on the bank, converging in a sharply receding perspective at right with the railings running parallel and the vanishing point of the river. In the foreground at left, a barge and two men on the shore with buildings on the far bank of the river in the distance.
