Marks and inscriptions
  • 'Pr: Simonau 1825.' (Central below image.)
  • The sheet has been trimmed so that only the tops of some of the letters of the credit line are visible. When considered alongside 25016:760, it appears to probably read as 'London Printed and Published by P. Simonau [...?]'
  • 'E. R et W. G.' (Lettered at bottom of the image.)
Production
The print is inscribed 'E.R et W.G.', suggesting that the original design may be attributed to them.
Object 29638:234 is lettered as being engraved by Eduard Kretzschmar and appears to be a part of the same series as this print.
