Gay Pride T-Shirts: Branding is a two-way street for producers and consumers. By subverting ads or customising brand names, consumers can add personal or social content to the already familiar brand message. At Gay Pride events in the USA and the UK in the last few years, brand logos and slogans have been adopted to give a new visibility to lesbian and gay issues. Some brands, of course, no longer ignore these potential consumer groups, preferring to make the most of the 'pink pound' by specially targeting gay and lesbian consumers.
