She wears a large blue turban, silver earrings and necklace, and a yellowish brown tunic with black sleeves. The baby is asleep, wears a dark red hat and brown clothes, and is tied to its mother with a white cloth.

Production | The artist was from Mandalay but it is thought he spent his working life in Rangoon. Noel Singer comments that "this watercolour was painted from a postcard of the time". This postcard was published by "The American Baptist Mission Press" mid to late 1920s. |
