This was the director Mehboob Khan's first experiment with colour film. Set within the kingdom of a Rajput prince and princess this sweeping narrative involves an evil prince who kidnaps a village girl, a farmer who tames the proud and 'wild' princess, and a spectacular sword fight in front of a funeral pyre. The poster depicts that sword fight as well as the princess in her stunning costume.

In the foreground there is an image of two men in princely costumes sword fighting. It appears as if elements of this poster design have been taken from the designs of the original hoarding by Bide Viswananthan (see IS.12-2001) |
