Mahogany with walnut veneer
Kenton & Co. was founded in 1890 by Blomfield, Barnsley, Ernest Gimson, Wiliam Lethaby and Mervyn Macartney and survived for only eighteen months. This cabinet was shown at the firm's exhibition at Barnard's Inn, London in 1891. Despite its relative plainness, the form of the piece and the use of veneer show the influence of eighteenth century furniture design. |
