The woman on the left is wearing a brown walking dress trimmed with white fur around the hem, and military-style ornament on the bodice, a white ruff-style collar, a black bonnet decorated with black feathers, and a white shawl draped over her arm. The woman on the right is wearing a white evening dress trimmed with a flounce and horizontal bands of embroidery above the hem. It has a wide neckline and short frilled sleeves. She is also wearing long white gloves and carrying a pink reticule.
