Engraving with hand-colouring. The bride stands to the right, wearing an ankle-length full-skirted dress with a deep flounce of lace around the skirt. The bodice has large leg o'mutton sleeves, lace edging to the yoke, and a deep lace-edged collar fastened with a gold brooch. Her bonnet has a wide brim and is draped with a lace veil and trimmed with bows and flowers. A mirror behind the bride reflects the back of the bonnet. The bridesmaid sits to the left on a green upholstered sofa, fastening a bracelet for the bride, wearing a blue watered-silk dress with blue bows down the front of the skirt, similarly large leg o'mutton sleeves and a pleated bodice with the neckline filled in with a white tucker and frilled collar. Her bonnet is pink, with a feather and striped ribbons.
